Playtime!

We've had a very busy couple of days! We've done a lot of goofing off on the bed in our jammies:

Goofing off with Daddy
And we've spent a lot of time trying to decide what to wear:

So many clothes, so little time!
EasternStar finally decided on this outfit for yesterday:
And we've been working on our drinking:
Trying not to drown EasternStar with her juice.
And we discovered the play room in our hotel:
Get back here Lego!
And Stranger and I have been reminded to appreciate the little things in life. Like how much fun it is to play with a tissue or a napkin. Or even a foot and a paper plate:
Check out my foot! I've got two of them!
Yesterday we decided that we all needed some fresh air so we braved the crowds from Moscow City Day and headed outdoors. Our hotel is on a little side street and to get to anywhere we have to walk down to a main street. The main street near out hotel was hopping with activity for Moscow City Day so we walked away from the crowds and ended up on New Arabat Street. It was about a 20 minute walk from our hotel. There is a lot of shopping on New Arabat Street. We checked out this toy store (the one with the red, yellow, green, and blue blocks - it translates to Children's World I think):
Detsky Mir toy store
EasternStar found a present for TinyDancer and this awesome duck:
Quack!
Afterwards, we had lunch at TGIFridays and then headed back to the hotel for our naps. Yay for naps!!!!
Today was a very traumatic day for all of us! EasternStar had her Embassy medical exam this morning and she hated it! First, the doctor made her strip down to her diaper (the nerve! She loves to be naked - but in the privacy of her own hotel room. She's no exhibitionist!) and did an exam on her. Amidst her screams of terror, the doctor told us that she was a drama queen and headed straight for Hollywood. And that we must remain strong and not hold her too much. And that the worst thing that we could do was to pick her up when she cries, when she is sick, or when she is tired. He said that he could tell by her alligator tears that we were already spoiling her. Ummm....right. Her cries have nothing to do with the fact that you are contorting her body all different kinds of ways and that it is freezing in your clinic. Got it! And then she had to have her blood drawn. I wanted to punch the nurse in the nose! There was no emla cream to numb her skin, and she picked out the biggest needle I have ever seen and she dug around in her tiny arm because she didn't hit the vein right. It was very traumatic. EasternStar was pissed! We came back to the hotel and we were all so upset, we all took 3 hour naps! 8 )
When we woke up, we played for a bit, had lunch, and then headed out for more fresh air.
Today we hit Old Arabat Street, which is about 5 minutes further than Old Arabat. First we hit the Starbucks and picked up some cute travel mugs for ourselves. As we were sitting outide the starbucks, we kept seeing people stop at this bear and take their pictures. So as to not be left out, we took a picture too:
EasternStar and Mommy
Then we hit the supermarket for some more yogurt and water and headed back to the hotel to rest.
I think that tomorrow we are going to stick close to home and rest up for the Embassy interview on Wednesday.

Just found your blog from my friend Kristine. Your post brings back such memories of our time in Moscow City! Only it was the dead of winter there and freezing. I wish we could have enjoyed it during the summer when there was more daylight and the weather was warmer! Congratulations to your family!

So cute!! We love the pictures! Keep posting!

The picture of the paper plate and her playing with her foot reminds me of being over in Vietnam. The babies would play with anything. Norah was happiest with a water bottle. LOL By the end of the trip (specifically the plane ride home conveniently), she had decided she was bored of all of these things and wanted more entertaining toys.

Luckily, you won't be spending two weeks over there with E and can get her home before she figures out that paper plates are not as fun. LOL!

Have I mentioned that we can't wait to meet her? We're so excited for you guys, checking the blog regularly.

Hey - Does Stranger have to go back to work right away upon your return? We made some famous chili for you this past weekend for a meal one or two nights!
Hugs, H
